Springtime Tallahassee

Springtime Tallahassee is a civic organization dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Tallahassee’s history and was originally chartered in 1968 to keep Tallahassee as the state’s capital.  Within Springtime Tallahassee there are five Krewes, each representing historical time periods of our state’s history (Spanish, American Territorial, Antebellum Statehood, War & Reconstruction and 20th Century).  Springtime Tallahassee proudly celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2018.

For the 2018-2019 year, Springtime Tallahassee is led by President Mike Melder and his wife Ann; General Chairman Samantha Fulton; and Andrew Jackson 47 Phillip Bacon and his Rachel, Nikki.

The Andrew Jackson Staff is composed of members of each of the five Springtime Krewes and represents Springtime in a number of festivals throughout Florida.  Andrew Jackson was chosen as a representative of Springtime Tallahassee because of his service to Florida as its first territorial Governor in 1821.  The Andrew Jackson staff consists of Continental Soldiers, Scouts, A Padre and Rachel Staff dressed in their Krewe period attire.

We look forward to seeing you at the 51st Springtime Tallahassee Parade and Festival, March 29th and 30th, 2019.
