Springtime Tallahassee

History

Springtime Tallahassee is a civic organization dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Tallahassee’s history and was originally chartered in 1968 to keep Tallahassee as the state’s capital. Within Springtime Tallahassee there are three Krewes, each representing historical time periods of our state’s history (Spanish, War & Reconstruction and 20th Century and Beyond). Springtime Tallahassee is excited to join the City in celebrating Tallahassee’s bicentennial year at their 2024 Grand Parade and Jubilee.

For the 2023-2034 year, Springtime Tallahassee is led by President Sean Marston and his wife Whitney; General Chairman Kiki Slaton and her husband David; and Governor 52 Ken Martin and his First Lady, Cindy.

The Governor’s Staff is composed of members of each of the three Springtime Krewes and represents Springtime in a number of festivals throughout Florida. To promote the rich history of their community, Springtime Tallahassee annually selects two members to portray the governor and first lady or first gentleman, reflecting the role of government in Florida’s capital city. We look forward to seeing you at the 56th Springtime Tallahassee Parade and Festival, April 5th and 6th, 2024
