The Pensacola Indie Fringe and Comedy Festival is Pensacola’s first comedy festival. Presented by Indie Art Council Pensacola, the festival will feature cutting-edge comedy and outsider entertainment at multiple venues throughout downtown Pensacola, including the Saenger Theatre, Vinyl Music Hall, the Rex Theatre, the Palafox House, Pensacola Little Theatre, O’Riley’s Irish Pub, Casks and Flights, Perfect Plain, Chizuko and more. Events will include:

• Two Sunday night headline stand-up comedy showcases at the historic Saenger Theatre;

• The return of ICM Theatre’s acclaimed production of the musical comedy Evil Dead: The Musical for four performances at Vinyl Music Hall;

• A weekend-long comedy film festival to include a short film competition and feature screenings;

• Comedy murder mystery shows by Improbable Cause Mystery Theatre;

• Improv and sketch comedy performances throughout the weekend;

• Stand-up performances at downtown Pensacola venues including O’Riley’s Irish Pub, Perfect Plain, Chizuko and Casks and Flights throughout the weekend;

• A Sunday evening comedy crawl-style happy hour with performers at multiple downtown bars and restaurants;

• Comedy workshops, panel discussions, seminars and other entertainment during daytime hours throughout the weekend;

• An opening celebration and VIP Sunday brunch;

• And more!

This event follows Indie Art Council’s successful August preview event at Vinyl Music Hall featuring “Kids in the Hall” star Kevin McDonald as well as local improv troupe Improvable Cause and local sketch comedy performers who created new sketches under McDonald’s tutelage during a day-long workshop.

This event is part of Indie Art Council Pensacola’s mission to foster and promote independent arts and cooperation between independent artists. The organization, which is in the process of applying for 501(c)(3) status, was formed in 2019 by a group of like minded Pensacola artists and supporters of the arts seeking to share resources, networking and educational opportunities with each other and throughout the community.
