Pensacola Mardi Gras Celebrations

Pensacola Mardi Gras, Inc took over the Grand Mardi Gras Parade 20 years ago.  With combined efforts of Danny Zimmern and Amy Newman, along with countless volunteers, we have created a Mardi Gras Season here in Pensacola.  Each year more and more Krewes are developing and creating events to help support the Mardi Gras Season. The support of our Krewes means the world to us and without them we could not have the fun we have each year.  As Mardi Gras grows in Pensacola so do our Sponsors.  Without the support of our Sponsor’s we wouldn’t be able to have a successful Mardi Gras season!

What makes Pensacola's Mardi Gras Celebration Different From Other Cities?

The history of Pensacola’s Mardi Gras goes back to 1874 when the first Knights of Priscus was formed. Pensacola’s Mardi Gras Celebration rivals other early parades such as Mobile, Biloxi and New Orleans. Unlike other parades, Pensacola is known for a more family welcoming environment. Though Pensacola’s parade is family friendly, it also offers entertainment for adults as well, separating the two makes our parade unique and fun for everyone to attend. We always ensure all age groups are having as much fun as possible. With these morals, and new ideas we are expanding each season to have the best Mardi Gras celebration possible.
